​Local Resources to Assist Families

There are many victim service providers that work throughout the city of Philadelphia:

The Office of Victim Advocate works on behalf of victims of violent crime.  Information regarding the Office can be found at Office of the Victim Advocate | Homepage | City of Philadelphia.

Students and families are directed to the victim service provider within their local community.  The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency offers assistance in finding victim service providers.  Please click on the following link to view the providers in your area: Local Victim Service Providers.

The District Attorney's Office has a Victim Services Division that works to provide support for victims and their families.  More information can be found at Victims & Witnesses - Office of the District Attorney : City of Philadelphia (phillyda.org)

City, state, and federal resources are being utilized to offset the effects of crime and violence.  Prevention and intervention programs and services are offered within each community.  The City of Philadelphia established the Office of Violence Prevention.  It implements and supports programs that work to prevent, reduce and end violence in the city.  To find out more about the programs offered go to the webpage at City of Philadelphia, Office of Violence Prevention


School District Assistance Programs

The Philadelphia School District does have programs and services in place to assist its students and families.  The Office  of Family and Community Engagement (FACE)  is an entrance for assistance for all families.  FACE works to assist families navigate the school district.  The main office is in the Administration Building at 440 N. The Office of School Safety's Victim Assistance Specialist supports children and families to ensure they have a consistent and comprehensive network of support and services when victimized by school-related crime.  More information can be found by contacting the Office of School Safety at School Safety – The School District of Philadelphia (philasd.org).

The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities oversees many of the programs and practices that involve the disciplinary process and the rights of the students.  More information can be found at Student Rights and Responsibilities – The School District of Philadelphia (philasd.org)
