2024 Statewide Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Symposium
When: September 25, 2024
What: The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), in collaboration with the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Centre County CIT, will hold the annual Statewide Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Symposium at the Wyndham Garden State College on September 25, 2024.
This one-day event will feature informative sessions covering topics on building a certified CIT program, first responders, and collecting data, as well as a special virtual reality session focused on the evolution of a CIT scenario. We are pleased to host Major Sam Cochran and Dr. Tom Kirchberg, who will discuss CIT as a community program that captures various unique and distinguishable training attributes and performances. We will also welcome retired San Antonio Police Officer, Ernest Stevens. Ernie will provide a brief overview of how the San Antonio Police Department implemented crisis intervention training, and provide a brief screening of the HBO documentary “Ernie and Joe: Crisis Cops”.

Who Should Attend: CIT certified personnel; CIT Coordinators; and CIT program personnel from established CIT counties and from counties/municipalities that are establishing new CIT programs are encouraged to participate.
