Michael VanKuren Memorial Award
(Formerly the Defensive Tactics Award)
This memorial award is presented to the deputy with the highest score and profiency level in defensive tactics. Michael VanKuren was a Deputy Sheriff with the Bradford County Sheriff's Office, who was killed in the line of duty on March 31, 2004. Deputy VanKuren was also a Defensive Tactics Instructor with the Deputy Sheriffs' Training Academy.
