Law - The law award is presented to the deputy with the highest average scores for civil and criminal law, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Michael VanKuren Memorial Award
(Formerly the Defensive Tactics Award)

This memorial award is presented to the deputy with the highest score and profiency level in defensive tactics. Michael VanKuren was a Deputy Sheriff with the Bradford County Sheriff's Office, who was killed in the line of duty on March 31, 2004. Deputy VanKuren was also a Defensive Tactics Instructor with the Deputy Sheriffs' Training Academy.
